From the district, for the makers

Fabric District Direct™ is a one-person sourcing studio run by someone who grew up in this business.

How I learned fabric

I'm Yaniv. I grew up in downtown Los Angeles around the clothing business — my dad manufactured garments here, and I learned the trade from him: how fabric is made, how to tell real quality by hand-feel, how the district actually works.

Most people buying fabric online are guessing. I'm not guessing. When I walk into a warehouse and touch a roll, I know what I'm holding — the fiber, the weight, whether it's worth your money. That's the whole business: I do the walking, the touching, and the knowing, so you don't have to gamble.

Why deadstock

The Fashion District runs on overstock. Mills overproduce, designers change direction, and beautiful fabric — real silk, real wool, real selvedge denim — ends up sitting in warehouses sold for a fraction of what it's worth. It shouldn't go to waste, and makers shouldn't pay retail markup for it.

I buy the rolls myself and sell them by the yard. The photos on this site are representative samples of what I source — and every roll is photographed as it lands, so ask and I'll send you current photos of the exact roll your order is cut from. When it's gone, it's gone — that's the honest nature of deadstock.

How I work

No fake inventory. No dropshipping. I source it, I check it by hand, I cut it, I ship it. If you need something specific, I hunt for it and quote you before spending a dime. If I can't find it, you owe nothing.

Four brands, one family

The short version of my story is four names: Eternity Fashion, Rebound LA, Broken Leash, and Identity Fashion — the fashion businesses my family built and ran. Eternity Fashion was our first US business: my dad Daniel manufactured on Towne Ave in downtown LA for over 15 years, selling to Susie's Deals at tens of thousands of units a month. Then he partnered with Amir Bardarian to create Rebound LA, off Los Angeles Street, which ran several years until his retirement. My brother Yeron kept the businesses going as wholesale companies, then co-created the brand Broken Leash in Henderson, Nevada with Steve Esfahani — they ran it together until about 2012, when Steve bought him out — and later opened his high-end boutique Identity Fashion on Melrose, before he got sick with cancer.

Between Daniel, Yeron, and me — the Hamudot family — that's 30 years of experience across manufacturing, design and development, sewing, fabric, and selling, plus the trade secrets and trend sense that only come from doing it that long. Now I'm rekindling that family heritage in the Los Angeles garment district.

Fabric District Direct is where all of that lives now: one broker-direct door for whatever fashion need you have — making it, designing it, sewing it, finding the fabric, or building it into a brand. Read the full history →
